Announcing the inaugural Trackars Conference

2017 will see Trackars host its first annual conference. Taking place on Wednesday 4th October at Riddell Hall, the conference theme is “Record keeping, data protection and implications on care plans and daily activities” and our guest speaker will be Rosemary Wilson, specialist in Health & Social Care law and lecturer on Legal, Health and Social Care Law throughout the UK and Ireland.

Kieran McMahon, Managing Director of McMahon People Solutions will deliver a talk entitled “Good Practice HR: Adhering to employment legislation and what do when it’s not going to plan.  Includes Sickness Absence; Employment Disputes- Grievance, Disciplinary, Appeals.”

The event is aimed at nurses, nurse managers and nurses with senior responsibilities and CPD points will be awarded for attendance.

Biography – Rosemary Wilson

Here’s some background information on our guest speaker for the Trackars Conference, Rosemary Wilson, RGN; RM: RCNT; RNT; LL.B (Hons); BL; LL.M (Medical Law) Rosemary Wilson

  • Rosemary trained in Belfast as a Registered General Nurse and a Registered Midwife before going on to specialise in Renal, Dialysis & Transplantation Nursing
  • Rosemary went on to become a Clinical Teacher and then a Nurse Tutor, lecturing in all aspects of Nursing, before completing a Degree in Law with Nottingham Trent University.
  • After qualifying as a Barrister with Queen’s University Belfast, Rosemary was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1997 and the Bar of Ireland in 2000.
  • Rosemary went on to complete her Masters Degree in Medical Law
  • Main areas of professional interest: All aspects of Health & Social Care Law, Clinical Negligence / Personal Injury law, Inquests, Family /& Children`s law, Capacity & Consent Issues, Human Rights & End of Life Law etc

In 2013, Rosemary set up her own Education Consultancy and now Lectures on Legal, Health and Social Care Law throughout the UK and Ireland, as an independent consultant under
